Be a part of the Duthie Power Services “family” as a Parts Associate. The Parts Associate is an integral part of our operations who supports the Service Department, Rental Department, and our team of Generator Technicians. This position will report directly to the Service Department manager.

The Duthie team has staff who have been with us for over twenty years, which is a testament to the investment we make in our employees. In the performance of your respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following:

    • Have a minimum of (3) years’ experience in diesel parts applications
    • Capable of researching current & obsolete diesel engine parts (internet & vendor websites)
    • Be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Outlook)
    • Read catalogs or computer to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
    • Receive and provide priced quotes for parts.
    • Communicate with management and staff on all issues.
    • Research & order parts as needed in a timely fashion.
    • Issue spare and replacement parts, equipment, and expandable items used in the maintenance field.
    • Take inventory of parts and equipment as well as maintain inventory records.
    • May drive to pick up incoming stock or pick up and deliver parts to units in other buildings or locations.

Be a part of the Duthie Power Services “family” as a Field Service Technician. The purpose of the Field Service Technician is to provide generator repairs and maintenance on emergency equipment that includes generators, fire pumps, and transfer switches.

In the performance of your respective tasks and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:

  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
  • Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts for other employees and departments within Duthie Power and our external clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical power generators, fire pump engines, and transfer switches
  • Troubleshoot various mechanical and electrical problems
  • Perform regular scheduled PM services and load testing as quoted
  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, keeping them clean and properly maintained
  • Submit monthly truck reports indicating if items are missing or damaged on the truck
  • Submit completed work orders and time cards to the office in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Attend monthly safety meetings (unless scheduling does not permit)
  • Work as a team with other technicians and management to complete repairs and any other projects
  • Job walk sites to assist Service Department Managers with quotes
  • Communicate customer feedback to Service Management
  • Provide technical training to customers
  • Assess potential application of company’s products and services and offer solutions that meet customer needs
  • Aid in future product and service developments
  • Be familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner
  • Perform a variety of other tasks whenever necessary and be a flexible team player
  • Always be available when on call. Make sure your company phone is with you and answer it. (see separate on-call procedure)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Diesel engine knowledge preferred
  • Electrical system knowledge preferred
  • Valid CA Driver’s license and clear MVR
  • Physically able to carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to pull a trailer
